Great product ideas are often so simple that your first reaction when you see them is “wish I’d thought of that.” Databox definitely belongs to that category. It is a single dashboard for all of your marketing KPI’s. Marketers can connect data from different sources into Databox, which then organises them in a visually stunning way and makes it easy to set and track your goals. So we’re glad that we can offer our users a way to integrate their Mediatoolkit data with Databox.

There are many online points where your customers come into contact with your brand, and it’s not just through your owned channels. Customers read online reviews, blogs, and articles mentioning your company. They might have walked into your store because of your Facebook ad, but it is also likely that they’ve seen a tweet that’s gone viral and decided to check it out.

In order to understand the journey that leads customers to your website, you should monitor your online mentions and then see how they fit with your marketing goals and sales results.

However, switching from one tool to another is time-consuming, and you don’t need all the data all the time. This is where Databox is of immense help.

You can track data from many sources at the same time, like Hubspot, Google Analytics, Facebook, and Mediatoolkit. Data is delivered to your mobile, Apple Watch, TV display or Slack channels.

The mobile app is useful for professionals who want access to data when they are away from their computer, while Datawalls are useful for projecting them on office screens.

How to connect Mediatoolkit to Databox

To get started, you’ll need to go through a short 4-step onboarding process to set up your account. You’ll be prompted to select your data integration, metrics and connect to your data. The first step will prompt you to select which data source you’d like to connect to first. Databox offers a number of data integrations that work as out-of-the-box connectors to your data source. For the majority of these, all you need are your authentication credentials. As a data source select Mediatoolkit. All five key metrics will be chosen automatically, but you can untick those you don’t want.

Once you’ve successfully authenticated Mediatoolkit, a new datacard will be created. Automatically, Databox will start retrieving the data and populating your new datacard with the selected datablocks. If you select more than one integration, this process is simply repeated.

Databox does rest of the work for you. Once this is done, your integration is ready.

See your total number of mentions

total mentions over timeThe
Total mentions tab provides you with a simple way to track your online share of voice. It shows you how many times your company was mentioned in the last week, last month or in the last quarter. You can see progress in absolute numbers and percentages, and determine days in which you company is most frequently mentioned. It’s an easy way to find out if your content campaigns or marketing efforts are gaining momentum on the internet, and identify the causes of potential increase of mentions.

Find influencers talking about your brand

In addition to knowing when your brand is being mentioned, the Influencers overview integration also allows you to learn who is talking about your brand.  It lists the sources and channels mentioning your brand from the one with the highest influence to the one with the lowest influence, and calculates how many people saw the mention coming from that source. If you’re tracking something other than your brand, like a general industry topic, this is an easy way to discover new influencers.

View top mentions by reach

top_mentions_reachIf your company has a lot of mentions, it can be time consuming to look at all of them to determine which ones have had played the biggest role in raising your brand awareness. The Top mentions by reach feature is the way to see that in just seconds. It shows mentions from websites, social media channels or comments that were seen by most people. Mediatoolkit estimates the total reach of a mention based on a number of different factors, such as their position within the text, overall engagement, and the number of times the query is mentioned.

Find posts that are going viral

Mentions by viralityIf you’re afraid of a social media crisis, the Top mentions per virality card is one of the things you want to check often. Mediatoolkit calculates how fast the articles, tweets or Facebook posts mentioning your brand are shared in comparison to other similar articles from that source. The datacard shows you real-time data about the top five mentions with the fastest growth in the number of engagements. If someone tweets an unfavorable fact about your business, you’ll know within minutes when it starts to spread.

Discover your top channels

mentions_by_sourceEver wondered how many of your mentions come from social media channels like Twitter and Facebook, and how many from website news? The Mentions per source Datacard is an easy way to discover where your brand is more present right now. Have a lot of publicity through press releases, but not that many people are talking about you on social media? Or is it the other way around – you’re popular on social media but not in mainstream news? The mentions per source tab is an easy way to decipher what’s going on, so that you can fine-tune your communication strategy in the future.
